Experienced Welder/Fabricator

We are in search of a highly skilled and experienced Welder/Fabricator with a versatile background in working with various materials, including carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum. The successful candidate will be adept at both welding operations and the operation of fabrication equipment, demonstrating proficiency in handling a range of materials to meet diverse project requirements. Responsibilities:

  • Material Expertise: Work with a variety of materials, including carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum, understanding their unique properties and requirements for welding and fabrication.
  • Equipment Operation: Operate fabrication machinery such as rollers, brake presses, and hand tools, ensuring precision in shaping and manipulating materials according to project specifications.
  • Collaborative Fabrication: Collaborate closely with the fabrication team to integrate material-specific expertise into the overall production process, ensuring high-quality results.
  • Material Preparation: Handle and prepare materials for welding and fabrication, utilizing appropriate tools for cutting, bending, and shaping specific to the characteristics of each material.
  • Welding Operations: Perform welding tasks using various techniques (MIG, TIG) tailored to the specific material being worked on, ensuring optimal strength and integrity.
  • Quality Control: Inspect welded and fabricated components to ensure they meet quality standards, tolerances, and adhere to project specifications for different materials.
  • Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints, considering material-specific requirements and ensuring accurate fabrication.
  • Material Selection: Advise on material selection based on project specifications, taking into account factors such as strength, corrosion resistance, and aesthetics.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Conduct routine maintenance on both welding and fabrication equipment, ensuring they are appropriately configured for working with different materials.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols when handling various materials and operating machinery, identifying and addressing potential safety hazards.
  • Problem Solving: Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to materials, welding, and fabrication processes, adapting techniques to suit specific material characteristics.
  • Efficiency: Strive for efficiency in both welding and fabrication processes, optimizing time and resources while maintaining high standards for quality.

Qualifications:

  • Proven Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Welder/Fabricator, showcasing expertise in working with carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.
  • Material Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of the properties, characteristics, and best practices for working with different metals.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficient in welding techniques and skilled in the operation of fabrication equipment for various materials.
  • Blueprint Reading: Ability to interpret engineering drawings and blueprints with consideration for material-specific requirements.
  • Safety Conscious: Knowledgeable about and committed to maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Team Player: Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, engineering, and design teams.
  • Problem Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Certifications: Welding certifications and relevant qualifications are a plus.

Tool Room Assistant

Under the direction of the Logistics Operations Manager, the Tool Room Assistant is responsible for ensuring scheduled tool requests are met and planned maintenance for the Company’s tools are completed.

Qualifications

  • Education: The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diploma or GED.
  • Years of Relevant Work Experience: 1 to 3 years tool or warehouse experience in a contracting environment is preferred; prior experience in tool maintenance and repair is preferred.
  • Certificates/Licenses: Forklift certification. Valid driver’s license. Satisfactory driving record.
  • Physical Job Requirements: Required to sit, stand, and move throughout Company facilities. Must be able to perform job responsibilities in an industrial, construction site and general outdoor environment around heavy machinery and equipment. Ability to lift 0 to 80 lbs.

Skills and Competencies

  • Technical Skills: This position requires knowledge of commonly used mechanical terms, tools, concepts, and practices; the mechanical ability to perform standard maintenance and repairs on common mechanical contracting tools; and proficiency with general office software and tool tracking
    software (preferably Gigatrak).
  • Personal/Interpersonal Competencies: This position requires strong problem solving skills; the ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment; the ability to make commitments and be willing to be held accountable against them; the ability to organize workloads to meet deadlines; the
    adaptability to accept change when needed; the ability to excel in a team environment and advance overall team objectives; and the ability to ensure customer satisfaction by delivering excellence in products and service.

Key Activities

  1. Tool Inventory. Process tool requests, both incoming and outgoing through the company’s intranet tool and consumable request system and the Gigatrak tool inventory system.
  2. Tool Maintenance. Assist with inspection and repair of tools/equipment. Maintain quarterly and annual safety standards of tools and equipment such as assured grounding and fire extinguisher inspections.
  3. Consumable Inventory. Monitor inventory of consumables in tool crib to ensure appropriate levels are maintained and ready for disbursement.
  4. Tool Delivery. Coordinate with Tool Room and Warehouse Coordinators to ensure accuracy and readiness of tool requests that will be shipped to job sites.
  5. Warehouse/Shipping and Receiving. Assist with loading/unloading of trucks, delivery of materials and material/equipment handling on an as needed basis.
  6. Other duties as assigned.
  7. Participate in the development and implementation of Company best practices.

Key Performance Factors
A successful Tool Room Assistant safeguards the Company’s tool investment by maintaining the optimal level of tools, ensures that all tools are accounted for and are accessible and ensures that tools are in good repair.

Working Conditions
This is a full time non-exempt position. Business hours are between 6:00am to 5:00pm.

Under the direction of the Logistics Operations Manager, the Driver is responsible for material and equipment deliveries and returns.

Qualifications

  • Education: The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the  completion of a high school diploma or GED.
  • Years of Relevant Work Experience:
    Certificates/Licenses: Forklift certification. Valid driver’s license. Satisfactory driving record. A CDL may be required of some drivers.
  • Physical Job Requirements: Required to sit, stand and move throughout company facilities. Must be able to perform job responsibilities in an industrial, construction site and general outdoor environment around heavy machinery and equipment. Ability to lift up to 80 lbs.

Skills and Competencies

  • Technical Skills: This position requires knowledge of commonly used mechanical terms, tools, concepts and practices; and knowledge of industry safety practices, procedures and equipment.
  • Personal/Interpersonal Competencies: This position requires the ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment, the ability to make commitments and be willing to be held accountable against them, the ability to organize workloads to meet deadlines, the adaptability to accept change

Key Activities

  1. Deliveries. Load work vehicles with material and equipment. Deliver in accordance with directions. Assist in unloading of deliveries.
  2. Material Handling. Operate forklift to transport material within the warehouse.
  3. Participate in the development and implementation of Company best practices.
  4. General Warehouse. Assist in miscellaneous warehouse duties as needed.
  5. Trailering. Capable of trailering items to and from job sites.

Key Performance Factors

A successful Driver efficiently loads and unloads material, assists in ensuring that deliveries are complete and accurate and delivers according to instructions and expectations.

Working Conditions
This is a full time non-exempt position. Business hours are between 6:00am to 4:30pm.
